Sike, i dont even know what this app is since it cant stay open long enough to even see the interface, good job guys.

I like this app. Mesh networking works well and its a great concept. But its so buggy its irritating to use. For starters you dont stay logged in if you quit the app.

Ive been using this app, sense it was launched publicly back in 2014. And in that time, Ive seen it at its best and its worst. And Ive watched it, deviate from what Open Garden originally intended the app to do. As well as what it was intended to be. As its sense been, connected to the grid through email, and text message verification links. And now displays, your cell phone number if that is used to register. Which leaves people, open and vulnerable to harassing phone calls, from cyber predators. That can then bully you, or séxually harass under age users through phone calls. As well as text messages, and granting them multiple ways to track you on sites like Twitter, Facebook or any site that requires a phone number. The verification link, prevents off grid services from being accessed, until you enter a code after account creation. As well as upon a cold relog. As well as, is prone to frequent bugs, that crash the app on a regular bases.

Man. Some of these reviews are just plain lies. I get no crashes and all the talk stalkers are scare tactics. Why? Who knows… but anyone going online through apps or websites knows that they will probably run into a few jerks along the way. Yes the app needs to be updated and innovate to match apps such as snapchat, kik, whats app, Yik yak, etc etc. but until those other apps have mesh technology for off the grind messaging, FireChat is the best bet. 1 star reviews are just haters. I first tried this app when it came out and it was so different and new, I didnt get it. But now it see its appeal. I can use the private message only or I can use the global chatroom where there is always new and interesting chat topics going around. I love the idea of out at sea on a cruise or when traveling with a group. The nearby chatroom feature needs some work, I see chats from people who are not even remotely nearby. Also the "anonymous" feature is still tied to your account, so public posts are forever under your signed in handle. There needs to be an option to have your handle decoupled from posts. Sometimes there are too many duplicate chatrooms. Overall nice little chat app with great potentials for off the grid communications.

This is awesome. Using it on our cruise. We have international data plan, but on the ship this works great to keep in touch with everyone in our party. I have not experienced any of the stability issues others have complained about.

No longer able to open app. iOS 8.4.1 iPhone 6 Tried deleting and reinstalling. Still quits.
