Great nearby mesh Messenger & global chat

Man. Some of these reviews are just plain lies. I get no crashes and all the talk stalkers are scare tactics. Why? Who knows… but anyone going online through apps or websites knows that they will probably run into a few jerks along the way. Yes the app needs to be updated and innovate to match apps such as snapchat, kik, whats app, Yik yak, etc etc. but until those other apps have mesh technology for off the grind messaging, FireChat is the best bet. 1 star reviews are just haters.

I first tried this app when it came out and it was so different and new, I didnt get it. But now it see its appeal. I can use the private message only or I can use the global chatroom where there is always new and interesting chat topics going around. I love the idea of out at sea on a cruise or when traveling with a group.

The nearby chatroom feature needs some work, I see chats from people who are not even remotely nearby. Also the "anonymous" feature is still tied to your account, so public posts are forever under your signed in handle. There needs to be an option to have your handle decoupled from posts.
Sometimes there are too many duplicate chatrooms.
Overall nice little chat app with great potentials for off the grid communications.
